With the recent Windows 11 update (version 24H2), Microsoft has introduced a new feature called Windows Protected Print Mode (WPP). While WPP enhances security, it can also interfere with printing operations, especially for users of Swiftpro printers, including the K30, K30D, and K60 series.
What You Need to Know About WPP
- Default Setting: WPP is disabled by default.
- Impact When Enabled:
- Any pre-installed printer drivers are uninstalled, preventing printing functionality.
- New printer drivers, print ports, and print queues cannot be created.
- Once enabled, disabling WPP does not restore previous drivers or settings. Reinstallation of the printer driver and configuration are necessary.
Recommended Action
